December isn’t over yet. However, we have less than a week until Christmas.

I have just one question…

HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!

Weren’t we just ringing in the New Year, bidding goodbye to the year 2016 (or in my case, bidding goodbye to the phone I accidentally broke approximately an hour or so before midnight). New year, new phone.. am I right? No?.. OK.

In any case, I want to specifically focus on the month of December because I feel like it flew by!

I’ve really enjoyed this month. I’ve been to a work outing and for drinks down the pub; went for an Indian with Sandra; Italian meal with Chloe. This evening I went to a restaurant on my own then met up with Kirstie afterwards at hers, we talked for a good few hours (we probably could have continued a good few more), it was so nice.

Tomorrow I’m seeing Lizzie and Ben (who’ve recently had a baby), Fran, Naomi & Chris, it’ll be so lovely to see them! (Plus, tomorrow is the last working day before Christmas!). Saturday I’m going to see my Grandma, and then next week I’m seeing another group of friends.

I love this time of year because, not only do you get to see everyone but you get to put a smile on their face.

For example: me and the friend I went to have Indian with, we get each other something small each year. I know she adores Jelly Babies and so this year, this happened

She got me the blue one! It made us both laugh.

It’d been just over a month since I’d seen Chloe, so we had a good chat and talked about our plans for January. I know she collects Monopoly Board Games

…so I got her The Nightmare Before Christmas Edition, she loved it! (the one above is her Big Bang Theory Edition which we’d played earlier in the year.

Gifts aren’t the main part about Christmas, it’s spending time with those you love, which is absolutely true. I’d take the time I spend with friends and family over gifts every single time (though, the gifts are a nice bonus, so keep ’em coming!).

It isn’t just about picking any random object and hoping for the best. I love putting thought into gifts. Thinking about what they’ve said throughout the year of what they like, what they’re looking for, their interests, until I find something that screams at me through the screen “THIS IS THE ONE!”

This method does mean I end up explaining my gifts. (Or perhaps that’s a trait I’ve picked up from my mum?). Either way, it’s a lot of fun!

December has also been filled with work, there’s not too much to say about that.

I’ve also attempted the Holiday Adventureathon, and now I have until Sunday to read four books. I don’t make things easy for myself, but it’s been a lot of fun so far. This time of year is very busy for me and I went in very aware of that.

I’ve also started a buddy read this month, which is a lot of fun! Because of the hectic schedule I’ve not been reading as much as I’d like however, it’s agreed we don’t need to finish in December!

The month of December has been really great so far. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and there’s still 11 days left! Including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Eve! So many possibilities for the next fews days, I hope I’ve not jinxed the rest of the month but here’s hoping it’s a good’n.
How’s your December going so far? Good? Bad? Reveal all in the comments below!
