#19 | A Moment to Think…

This is going to sound a little strange but as I was leaving work for lunch I saw this teddy bear. It was just sitting there on the wall, in the rain, and I felt bad for the damned thing!

Do you know what that’s like? To feel bad for an inanimate object but I did!
It got me thinking as well, about people who are alone at Christmastime. I find it incredible that one random thing can spur on to these thoughts but they do – and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

I think sometimes we get caught up in the excitement, which isn’t a bad thing at all. I embrace celebrating anything whether it’s big eventS like Christmas; Birthdays; Weddings; Getting a Job; Moving into a new home or smaller things so getting excited for Christmas is fantastic.

But it’s still good to think of others around us who might be homeless this Christmas, or unable to see their families for whatever reason, and I’m not saying that should impact our happiness on the day but these thoughts just got to me. I hate the thought of people being alone but especially at this time of year.

If you have family who you may not be able to see this year then give them a phone call, or if you know someone spending Christmastime alone then invite them out to celebrate.

At the end of the day as human beings we feel good seeing other people happy, and to be the cause of that happiness would be something else entirely. It probably wouldn’t take much, as I say a phone call or a visit, a little time to you means the world to someone else.

The teddy on the wall was gone when I got back from lunch so here’s hoping the owners found him and took him home.
