I think this will be a page I continuously update because there are always places I want to go and I’m always dreaming up ideas but for now I’ve decided to limit myself to five or six places to get me started with this page.
Hope you enjoy and let me know your Destination Dreams!
Italy by Train
When me and my friend Chloe went to Rome in 2015 we decided to explore outside of Rome including Amalfi and Pompeii. The driver for that tour was so passionate about Rome, Italy and its history and told us that the saying ‘All roads lead to Rome’ came about because of the fact that all the train lines lead to Rome. I believe he said that when they built the new infrastructure they had built it in the same way and so apparently it is very easy to travel Italy by train.
So since 2015 this is something that I really want to do! I adore Rome and want to explore the rest of the beautiful country and its history. My plan would be to go to Palermo, Naples, Rome, Pisa, Florence, Venice, Verona and Milan.
Greece & Greek Island Hopping
Being part Greek/Cypriot I would love to go to Greece. I’ve been to Cyprus growing up however, never to Greece (unless you count the emergency landing in Athens!). Greece is a beautiful country with so much to offer: the history, the culture, the cuisine and I want to experience all of it. Hence why I would also love to go Greek Island Hopping.
There are so many things I would love to do in Iceland. The Aurora Borealis (aka. the Northern Lights) is an obvious one. The Blue Lagoon sounds amazing, Whale Watching or snowmobiling perhaps (depending on the time of year), the Golden Circle and probably even more than that. It sounds stunning and it’s been somewhere I’ve wanted to go for a couple of years now.
Australia and New Zealand
If you’re wondering why Australia and New Zealand are on here together it’s because in limiting myself I’ve allowed myself five places. I know this is technically six but as they’re closer together than the others just shhhh!
Anyway, moving on! I would absolutely love to go to Australia and New Zealand one day.
Australia, I’ve heard from many people how amazing it is out there from The Great Barrier Reef, The Blue Mountains, the National Parks, Sydney Opera House, the Rainforests or visiting Aquariums and Sanctuaries down to the local people, it sounds like a really exciting place to go with lots to do. My cousin even went skydiving out there! Now I’m not sure I’m that brave (let’s be real, I’m definitely not that brave) but it really packs a punch to the meaning ‘Sky’s the limit”!
New Zealand has intrigued me for a while now for one reason in particular, and that is that everyone describes it as stunning, picturesque and beautiful. They rave about the scenery and the natural sights of the country. I must admit every time I look up New Zealand I’m completely drawn in by the views of the landscape and I truly hope that one day I can see them in person.
I won’t lie, Thailand only recently came onto my radar. Why wasn’t it there before? I’m not sure. I suppose when thinking about places I’d like to go it never popped out in my mind.
That was until my Auntie decided to go and, let me tell you, she came back with some stories! From what she’s told me she had the most eventful time out there. She was always on the move and there was always something to do. She zip-wired across a lake with a pretty hefty drop by the sounds of it. What sold it to me was that she described it as probably the best holiday of her life.
Now I’m in full research mode and, while I probably won’t zip-wire across any lakes, I’ve no doubt there’s so much more to do out there that I never considered.
New York at Christmastime
OK, so admittedly I have been to New York before and I loved it. I went when I was around 16 so I probably didn’t experience all what it had to offer, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Having said all of that, I would love to go back to New York around Christmas. Just to see all the front store-fronts in all it’s glory – I mean I’ve seen pictures and I can see that people go ALL OUT! The lighting of the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Centre, Ice Skating, the parade and just the general festive feel. Let’s not forget that if I timed it right New Years Eve could be spent in Times Square! Who would pass up that opportunity? Not me!
These are not all of the places I want to go – trust me there are so many that this page would never end however, this is a taster of places I would like to visit and experience.
Let me know where your dream places are to visit, I’m always looking for inspiration!
