Following on slightly from my Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation post, I’m now talking about the primer!
When I first bought the foundation the lady was nice enough to give me some samples of ‘The Mattifier’ and ‘The Smoother’ primer. My guess is nice enough because she knew I’d be back to buy the damn bottle probably – moving on!
Well, you’ve probably guessed from the above that I loved this primer.
I tried both, I did really like The Mattifier one, it was very similar in texture and did what it said on the tube however, she also gave me samples of ‘The Smoother’ and what I found interesting was that it also Mattifies (to an extent, there is definitely less shine) but also as soon as I started using it both friends and family commented saying “Wow, your skin looks really smooth lately”
NO JOKE!
I mean, can you get any better than that?
I want to say that they didn’t know that I’d changed things up, they don’t even know what make-up I used and to use those words to describe how I looked just sealed it for me.
As soon as I started to run out of the samples she gave me I was back in the department store buying the full-sized bottle.
Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t just the comments from other people (although, lets face it, it was a bonus) but I love the silky texture and it almost sinks into your skin so you don’t feel that there’s an overlaying sheen of grease on your face before you put on your foundation.
I too noticed a difference in my skin and my make-up. My Auntie commented recently to say ‘Wow, you’re getting better at doing your make-up!” – bear in mind I’m 23 years old and honestly, I think it’s nothing to do with me and everything to do with the products I’m currently using.
If there’s anything I feel I’ll need to update on in future I’ll be sure to re-upload this post however, after a month or two of continuous usage I must say I am very pleased with my purchase (even if my bank statement isn’t) and it’s a product I feel I will definitely be re-purchasing in future. (… sorry bank future bank statement).
